Every feature on Trademeistr is built with safety in mind — from identity verification to secure payments.
Every artisan undergoes identity verification, skills assessment, and reference checks before appearing on the platform. We verify government-issued ID, trade certifications, and professional insurance where applicable. Unverified artisans cannot receive bookings.
All payments are processed through our escrow system. Your money is held securely until you confirm the job is complete. We never share your full payment details with artisans. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-DSS compliant.
Every completed booking generates a review opportunity. Reviews are verified and cannot be edited by artisans. Consistently low-rated artisans are flagged for review and may be removed from the platform.
All messages between customers and artisans are logged within the platform. This protects both parties and provides a record in case of disputes. We recommend keeping all communication within the app.
If you ever feel unsafe during a job, end the service immediately and call your local emergency services. Then report the incident through the app — our safety team responds within 2 hours during business hours.
Trademeistr conducts criminal background checks on all artisans during the onboarding process. Artisans with serious criminal records are not permitted on the platform. Checks are renewed annually.
We encourage all artisans to carry professional liability insurance. Artisans with valid insurance are marked with an “Insured” badge on their profile. In the event of property damage during a job, our dispute resolution team will assist with claims.
You can report any safety concern directly from a booking or artisan profile. Reports are reviewed by our trust and safety team within 24 hours. Serious violations result in immediate suspension pending investigation.
Always book through the platform to ensure payment protection. Verify the artisan’s identity when they arrive. Keep a clear description of the work agreed upon. Don’t pay outside the app.
Keep your certifications and insurance up to date. Communicate clearly about scope, timing, and pricing before starting work. Report any unsafe working conditions. Never accept off-platform payments for bookings made through Trademeistr.
